NOQ Open
Open Ideas. Open Engineering.
We publish engineering where openness makes a product better to own: easier to repair, audit, extend and keep running.
Scope
What we open
Firmware
Device software, so behaviour can be inspected and devices kept alive.
PCB designs
Schematics and board layouts for repair and adaptation.
3D and CAD files
Enclosures and parts that can be reprinted, replaced or modified.
Libraries
Reusable code for sensors, protocols and device integration.
API and SDK
Interfaces for building on NOQ devices, locally and remotely.
Documentation
Setup, protocols and behaviour — including what happens when something fails.
Licensing
The principle
- Explicit
- Every published project carries a licence file. What you may do is never a guess.
- Decided up front
- Openness is decided per project and stated before release. What is published as open stays open.
- Safety documented
- Fail-safe behaviour is documented, so installers and owners know how a device acts when something goes wrong.
- Name excluded
- Open licences cover code and designs, not the NOQ name or marks.
